CED — Targeted Support for Quebec’s Economically Vulnerable RCMs (REGI & QEPD)

By GrantHub Research Team ·

Communities facing economic headwinds often need more flexible, patient funding to spark business activity and long-term renewal. For organizations operating in some of Quebec’s most economically vulnerable regions, the CED — Targeted support for Quebec’s economically vulnerable RCMs (REGI & QEPD) is designed to do exactly that. Delivered by Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions, this initiative focuses on helping businesses and community organizations move forward with projects that strengthen local economies where growth has been harder to achieve.

The program targets specific regional county municipalities across Côte-Nord, Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine, Mauricie, Nord-du-Québec, and Outaouais, including areas such as Avignon, La Haute-Gaspésie, Rocher-Percé, Pontiac, and Kativik. Small and medium-sized businesses can access funding that may cover a substantial share of eligible project costs, typically structured as interest-free, repayable support with repayment starting well after the project is complete. Non-profit organizations and ecosystem partners may benefit from even more flexible, and in some cases non-repayable, contributions. Projects often relate to business start-up or expansion, tourism assets, local services, primary processing in resource sectors, technology adoption, or initiatives that improve productivity and competitiveness.

Applications are currently being accepted, making this a timely opportunity for businesses and organizations looking to invest in revitalization, diversification, or reindustrialization efforts. Exploring the full program details can help determine how this targeted support could align with your regional project plans.
