Agriculture Job Connector

By GrantHub Research Team ·

Finding reliable workers is one of the biggest challenges facing farms and agri-food businesses across Alberta, especially during peak seasons. The Agriculture Job Connector is designed to make that process easier by helping employers connect with job seekers who match their specific labour needs, while also offering financial support to offset some of the costs of hiring. Delivered by the Government of Alberta, the program focuses on keeping the province’s food and agriculture system strong by improving access to skilled and motivated workers.

Through this initiative, eligible small and medium-sized agriculture and agri-food businesses can register their job opportunities and be matched with potential candidates using the federal Job Bank. In addition to recruitment support, the program can provide non-repayable funding of up to around $8,000, helping employers bring on new workers, fill hard-to-staff roles, or stabilize their workforce during critical periods. This makes it particularly useful for producers, processors, and agri-businesses that need timely hiring support without taking on additional financial risk.

The Agriculture Job Connector is currently available to Alberta-based businesses that meet certain requirements and are actively looking to hire. For employers navigating labour shortages or planning their next hiring step, learning more about how this program works can help determine whether it fits your workforce and business goals.
