Offered by Government of Canada, Pacific Economic Development Canada
Strengthening the supports around Black entrepreneurs can have a lasting impact on business creation and economic participation across British Columbia. For Black-led organizations that work directly with founders and small business owners, the PacifiCan — Black Entrepreneurship Program Ecosystem Fund offers a significant opportunity to scale programs, expand reach, and address long-standing gaps in the local entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Delivered by Pacific Economic Development Canada as part of the national Black Entrepreneurship Program, this fund provides substantial non-repayable funding, with support reaching into the millions for strong projects. It is designed for incorporated, Black-led not-for-profit organizations that deliver business services to Black communities in B.C. Funding can be used to strengthen and grow initiatives such as incubation and acceleration programs, mentorship and networking opportunities, and other activities that help Black entrepreneurs start, grow, and connect to new markets and resources. A strong emphasis is placed on collaboration, measurable outcomes, and building long-term organizational capacity rather than one-off programming.
The program is currently accepting applications and is competitive, with a focus on projects that clearly demonstrate impact and complement existing supports in the province. For Black-led nonprofit organizations looking to deepen their role in B.C.’s entrepreneurship landscape, learning more about how this fund works can help determine whether it aligns with your mission and growth plans.
