OVIN — Electric Vehicle (EV) — Stream 2 is designed for businesses that are ready to move beyond early research and into development, testing, and real-world demonstration. Delivered by the Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network, this stream focuses on practical, commercially driven projects that can be showcased in Ontario and attract customer and partner interest.

The program supports collaborative projects across a wide range of EV-related applications, from light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles to charging infrastructure, intelligent transportation systems, and transit-supportive technologies. Businesses may be developing electrified powertrains, advanced battery systems, lightweight components, fleet management tools, or even hydrogen and alternative fuel vehicle solutions. Funding of up to approximately $1 million is available on a non-repayable, co-investment basis, encouraging strong private-sector participation and partnerships with other companies, researchers, or public-sector organizations.
