OBIO — Early Adopter Health Network (EAHN)

Offered by Ontario Bioscience Innovation Organization

Ontario Healthcare & Medical Biotechnology & Life Sciences

Program Overview

Bringing a health technology from pilot to widespread adoption is often less about the science and more about proving real-world value within the healthcare system. For Ontario-based health tech and life sciences organizations, the OBIO — Early Adopter Health Network (EAHN) is designed to bridge that gap by connecting innovators directly with healthcare organizations willing to evaluate new solutions in active care settings.

Delivered by the Ontario Bioscience Innovation Organization, EAHN focuses on industry-driven partnerships that allow technologies to be tested, validated, and refined where they matter most—inside hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare environments. The program supports startups, established companies, and even nonprofits developing solutions across healthcare, medical devices, digital health, and biotechnology. Participants receive non-repayable financial support that varies by project, along with hands-on assistance around evaluation design, adoption strategies, and implementation. Importantly, support is available not only for the technology company, but also for the healthcare organization participating in the evaluation, helping reduce barriers on both sides.

By creating real-world evidence and showcase sites, EAHN helps Canadian health technologies demonstrate impact, improve patient care and system efficiency, and position themselves for broader adoption in Canada and beyond. For organizations looking to validate their solution and build credible health system partnerships, learning more about how EAHN works could be a valuable next step.
