Offered by Consortium de recherche et d'innovations en bioprocédés industriels au Québec
For Quebec-based aerospace organizations working to cut greenhouse gas emissions, collaborative research can be difficult to fund on their own. INNOV‑R — CRIAQ is designed to close that gap by supporting ambitious R&D projects that pair industry with academic or public research expertise to advance cleaner aerospace technologies. The program focuses on projects with measurable environmental impact, particularly those that contribute to reducing GHG emissions across aerospace products, processes, or systems.
Delivered by CRIAQ, this initiative supports multi-year research collaborations involving at least one business and one university or public research centre. Eligible projects can receive non-repayable funding of up to roughly half a million dollars per year, typically covering around 40% of project costs over a period of up to three years. The structure makes it well suited for small and medium-sized enterprises, larger companies, and even non-profits that want to tackle complex R&D challenges while sharing risk, expertise, and infrastructure with research partners.
While this specific call is not currently accepting applications, INNOV‑R — CRIAQ is part of an ongoing series of initiatives that open periodically. Aerospace organizations in Quebec with clean technology or emissions-reduction projects may benefit from preparing early, identifying research partners, and staying informed about upcoming calls to see how this program could support their innovation plans.
