Offered by Futurpreneur Canada
Launching a new business often stalls at the same point: you have a solid idea and early momentum, but limited access to capital and experienced guidance. For aspiring founders across Canada, the Futurpreneur Canada Core Start-Up Program is designed to bridge that gap by pairing startup financing with hands-on mentorship during the most critical early years.
Through Futurpreneur Canada, eligible entrepreneurs can access repayable startup funding of up to roughly $60,000, with the option to layer financing in partnership with BDC as the business grows. The structure is intentionally startup-friendly, offering interest-only payments in the first year to ease cash flow while the business gets off the ground. What sets this program apart, however, is that financing is only part of the picture. Participants are matched with an experienced business mentor for up to two years, gaining practical advice on everything from refining their business model to navigating early operational challenges. Founders also benefit from access to planning tools, educational resources, and a national entrepreneurial network.
The Core Start-Up Program is open to businesses in a wide range of industries and is best suited to founders who are actively preparing to launch or are in the very early stages of operations and meet certain requirements. For entrepreneurs who want both capital and guidance as they build their first business, this program is often worth a closer look to see if it aligns with their startup plans.
