Program Overview

Starting or growing a business can feel especially challenging when traditional employment pathways don’t fit your circumstances. Entrepreneurs on the Rise is designed to meet that reality, offering a supportive, skills-focused pathway for women and non-binary entrepreneurs in British Columbia who identify as having a disability. Delivered by ETHOS Career Management Group in partnership with Community Futures BC, this program focuses on helping participants turn business ideas into viable ventures or strengthen an existing small business through structured training and personalized guidance.

Rather than providing a one-time cash grant, Entrepreneurs on the Rise offers non-repayable support through free online entrepreneurial training, one-on-one business coaching, and access to workshops and guest speakers. Participants work through concept development and business planning, with continued coaching even after launch. The program also places strong emphasis on practical and personal skills that are essential for long-term success, such as business communication, conflict resolution, goal setting, and confidence in self-employment. Supports may also include referrals to short-term training, mentorship, and resources that help address barriers like childcare or transportation, depending on individual needs.

For startups and small businesses in British Columbia looking for hands-on guidance rather than just funding, this program can be a meaningful way to build both a business and a strong foundation as an entrepreneur. Exploring the full details can help you decide if Entrepreneurs on the Rise aligns with your goals and readiness.
