Offered by York University
Scaling a women-led venture often requires more than capital alone—it takes strategic clarity, experienced guidance, and a strong peer network. ELLA Ascend, delivered through York University’s YSpace and powered by Desjardins, is built for Ontario-based founders who are ready to move from traction to true growth. This intensive four-month accelerator focuses on strengthening the fundamentals that matter most at the scaling stage, including sales, marketing, operations, and financial readiness, while helping founders sharpen their long-term growth strategy.
Designed for women entrepreneurs working full-time in their businesses, ELLA Ascend combines structured learning with hands-on mentorship. Participants benefit from practical frameworks that support sustainable growth, along with tailored advice from mentors aligned to their industry and stage. Beyond education, the program offers meaningful non-repayable support through access to startup resources valued at tens of thousands of dollars, opportunities to compete for curated business advisory support worth around $10,000, and cost-shared access to senior-level, fractional executive expertise to help fill leadership gaps as the business scales.
Just as valuable is the community element. Founders join a diverse, collaborative network of women entrepreneurs across sectors, creating space for shared learning and long-term connections. With applications currently being accepted on a rolling basis, ELLA Ascend is worth a closer look for founders who want to understand how this accelerator could support their next stage of growth.
