Black Entrepreneurship Program Ecosystem Fund

Access to the right networks, mentorship, and tailored support can make all the difference for Black entrepreneurs trying to start or scale a business in Atlantic Canada. The Black Entrepreneurship Program Ecosystem Fund was created to strengthen that support system by investing in organizations that work directly with Black business communities across New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island. Delivered by the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, the fund focuses on removing systemic barriers and expanding practical, on-the-ground business support.

Rather than funding individual businesses directly, this initiative provides non-repayable funding to Black-led, non-profit organizations that deliver high-impact services. These organizations run incubators and accelerators, connect entrepreneurs with mentors and peers, offer training and outreach programs, and build long-term capacity within Black communities. With several million dollars committed in Atlantic Canada, the Ecosystem Fund plays a central role in ensuring Black entrepreneurs have access to the tools, knowledge, and connections needed to grow sustainable businesses across a wide range of industries.
